With several states already requiring employment eligibility verification through the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) E-Verify system, confirming authorized right to work has become an increasing concern for employers throughout the United States. CII will help you to effectively manage U.S. employment eligibility verifications, as well as to provide electronic management of I-9 forms.
As a designated agent authorized by the DHS to perform I-9 employment eligibility searches on behalf of clients, you can count on our expertise in helping to facilitate your employment eligibility verification program. Benefits include:
- Reduced Storage of Paperwork – CII stores all I-9 Documentation and results of the employment eligibility search for a minimum of 7 years.
- Ensures a Legally Authorized Workforce – The E-Verify system electronically compares information entered on the Employment Verification, Form I-9, with records contained in the Social Security Administration and DHS databases to help employers verify the identity and employment eligibility of newly hired employees.
How it Works
I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification searches are conducted through the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system. The E-Verify system compares information entered on Form I-9 with records in the Social Security Administration and DHS databases in order to verify the identity and employment eligibility of new hires.
Special Considerations:
Like the I-9 process, E-Verify should be completed within three business days of the applicant’s hire date. Penalties levied by the DHS for non-compliance with the three-day rule range from $500 to $1500 per incident
