Employers Oppose Health Care Mandates and Curbing Tax-Free Benefits |

A recent survey showed that more than 60% of U.S. employers oppose capping the tax-favored status of employer-paid health care premiums as part of health care reform legislation. More than 50% of employers also oppose the proposed healthcare mandates. Despite employer opinions, both of these scenarios are likely to be included in any proposed health care reform legislation, as federal lawmakers are looking for ways to produce some revenue needed to provide health insurance premium subsidies for a portion of the country’s 46 million uninsured...
